Mr. Scherer graduated with a BBA in accounting from Southeast Missouri State University. While in school and following graduation, he worked for the regional accounting firm of Kerber, Eck & Braeckel as a tax accountant. In 1987, he became the asset management controller for The Staubach Company, a national real estate firm. In 1993, as vice president of finance for the asset management division, he helped to initiate a public offering for Columbus Realty Trust. He left the real estate business in 1994 to pursue investment advisory services.

Scott is a member of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., the Financial Services Institute, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Dallas Chapter of Certified Public Accountants. He is an investment adviser representative.

Scott serves on the Finance Committee for The Partnership with Native Americans and is a former board member of “Threads of Hope” charity. Scott lives in Allen, Texas, with his wife of thirty years. Laura. He has two sons, a daughter and one granddaughter. When not in the office, he enjoys hunting, fishing and working with his favorite charities.
